Wallaceville Playcentre offers a quality early childhood education and is a fantastic place for your children to have fun, and get great skills and enjoyment from interacting with other children and adults. We also provide support and community for the whole whanau. Friendships made at Playcentre frequently provide the "village"that we all need to help raise our children.

We are located across the road from the Wallaceville Railway Station so getting here by rail is easy. Parking is available on the street outside.

We run two general sessions at Wallaceville Playcentre and one outdoor session each week. The outdoor sessions are a new initiative that started in Term 4, 2015. We are currently spending our outdoor sessions at Trentham Memorial Park exploring the bush and the river bank. Outdoor session locations may change so check our facebook page to see where we are meeting each week.

Our sessions are run by dedicated teams of mothers, fathers, grandparents and caregivers. Play is set up or available throughout the session and includes areas such as playdough, arts and crafts, collage, painting, baking, storytime, puzzles, dress-ups, role playing, swings, sandpit, confidence course, water play etc. Children's learning is recorded in profile books that parents are encouraged to participate in completing and sharing with their children. These make fantastic treasurers to keep for years to come.

Our front garden is in the process of being redesigned into an amazing natural play space that will reflect our location near the Rimutaka ranges and the beautiful Hutt River with a "Mountain and River"design.

We often run a SPACE session at Wallaceville Playcentre one afternoon a week for new mums and their babies and although the current SPACE group has finished there is a new session due to start in Term 1, 2016. The session time is still to be finalised but you can register your interest with Hutt SPACE by clicking on the SPACE for new parents tab on this website.

We love going on trips and each session goes on at least one trip per term. Everyone from every session is invited to all trips. Some examples of past trips are: Harcourt Park, Wellington Zoo, fire station, Upper Hutt Library Storytime, Avalon Park bike track, Staglands Wildlife Reserve, swimming pools, train trips and Rmutaka Gymnasium.

Our centre is also used as a venue for Adult Education workshops run through the Hutt Playcentre Association. Currently the Te Manga trainees' children attend a fully supervised session on Tuesday mornings while their parents are at the workshops.

All visitors are welcome to come along and see what we do before enrolling at our centre. So if you and your child(ren) would like to be part of our Playcentre whanau give us a call or message us on Facebook for some more information. We look forward to meeting you Haere Ra.
