Kia ora! Welcome to Miramar Playcentre.

Miramar Playcentre is the only Playcentre on Te Motu Kairangi, and is a very special centre. We celebrated 30 ayears of providing quality early childhood education in 2014. We pride ourselves on our child-led philosophy, our mixed age learning environment, and the opportunities we provide our member’s whanāu.

As a parent co-operative we are passionately engaged in providing quality early childhood education and a unique learning experience. Our community is diverse and draws families from Seatoun to Lyall Bay.

We offer a wide selection of learning opportunities for our tamariki, from water play to clay, carpentry, face painting, family and dramatic play, and much more. Miramar Playcentre has a strong focus on messy play and learning through doing within their own environment. We empower our children to be confident learners who embrace education opportunities.

We actively encourage our parents to learn alongside their tamariki. In addition to learning on session we have free training at Playcentre for adults who wish to learn more about child development, behaviour or to extend their knowledge about subjects such as music, woodwork, or children’s creativity. This is a great opportunity for parents and caregivers.

Miramar Playcentre is an affordable early childhood education option. We access government funding including 20 hours free, so we only charge our families a small donation per term.
